Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I am a third year college student studying game design! I have a passion for 3D modeling and character design. I've been making models for about three to four years now, mostly for VRChat but have been branching out a bit more as of late. Obviously, as seen from my major, I enjoy a variety of video games and VR. A couple of my favorite games are Project Zomboid, Baldur's Gate 3, and VRChat.
When and how did you get into social VR?
I started playing VRChat around 2017, AKA the “Ugandan Knuckles” meme era. At the time I didn't have a headset, but I enjoyed the chaotic nature and played on desktop. This was my first introduction to social VR and VR culture, though I did end up taking a year or two long break of the platform. Once COVID-19 hit, I decided to buy my first headset and delved deeply into the VR universe.
“The biggest thing that interests me about social VR is how each person represents themselves, and how that affects the interactions they have with people around them.”
What interests you most about social VR?
The biggest thing that interests me about social VR is how each person represents themselves, and how that affects the interactions they have with people around them. In VRChat, you can choose to be in any kind of avatar and present yourself in whatever way you want, and to me that process is extremely interesting.
What is your go-to way of expressing your creativity?
I express my creativity through 3D modeling! I love creating characters and avatars, and expressing myself through them.
Who or what inspires you?
A major inspiration for me is the people around me! My friends all inspire me in different ways and propel me to refine my craft and dedicate myself to something we all love.
What is the origin of your username?
The story of my username is insanely simple: I misspelled my name when I made my first social media account a long time ago. I've never looked back since.
How do you feel about the future of VR?
I feel excited and hopeful about the future of VR! VR is a technology that only develops more as time moves on, and the thought of what’s to come excites me.
